Audio has become an increasingly popular way for people to consume news & information.
As a result of this shift, the Washington Post and media engineering team have invested in increasing our audio offerings and innovating with audio both off-platform and on our owned and operated surfaces.
I needed to reimagine how we presented users with audio on the site.
I was the lead product designer on this project, working through the various phases of the UX process with user research, prototyping, user testing, design system integration, and visual UI design collaborating with media engineers, advertising, and audio stakeholders.
During the execution of the project, I was the main point of contact with PM and engineering on design and tech feasibility, project management, visual quality assurance, testing, and user validation.

While developing this experience I wanted to create something that users would find utility in, while still feeling familiar.
I wanted to extend this experience across the platform while also delivering on business goals.
I conducted extensive user research into listening habits and expectations. This research helped guide the design process to land an MVP.
Fine Tuned.
I wanted to create an experience that let users multitask if they needed, or sit back and enjoy.
Based on user research and data, many users like to listen while they [Insert activity here]
So I gave the people what they want :)
